Registration for the TCCHS mock trial team is now taking place.
Steps for Registration
- Log into your tcjackets.net Google account and then complete the participation agreement.
- Register for Remind messages (You may text @tcchsmtt to 81010.)
- Register for the Mock Trial Team Training at classroom.google.com. The enrollment code to join is arkybh3.
Mandatory Rehearsals
After participants learn about and prepare for the case, rehearsals with the entire team are crucial to perform competitively and improve weaknesses by getting coach/attorney feedback. Weekly practice attendance and homework completion are mandatory.
The team currently plans to hold six mock trial rehearsals from November through January. Each student must attend at least five of these rehearsals. Coach Bellamy may dismiss any student from the team for missing rehearsals. The final selection of team members for the competition may depend upon each student’s experience, degree of preparation, and demonstrated ability to perform.
Team members who do not compete at the regional competition will be able to attend and observe as alternates. The mock trial team may need substitutes to compete in the district competition. Coach Bellamy will prioritize participating in an invitational tournament held in February or March at Georgia State University Law School for members who are unable to compete at regional or district championships, but who prepared and practiced. Other tournament competition opportunities may be made available upon request by team members.
